Guus Hiddink 'to stay on at Chelsea in advisory role'

Guus Hiddink reportedly confirms that he will remain with Chelsea next season to assist incoming manager Antonio Conte.

Guus Hiddink has reportedly said that he will be staying on at Chelsea next season to assist incoming manager Antonio Conte.

The Dutchman took over for a second stint as interim boss after Jose Mourinho was sacked by the club in December, steering them away from the relegation zone and into the top half of the Premier League table.

Italy boss Conte will take over at Stamford Bridge after leading the Azzurri at Euro 2016, but Hiddink has hinted that he will also remain at the club in an advisory role.

The 64-year-old reportedly told Fox Sports in Netherlands that he will help to bring a number of youngsters through next season.

"You often see that the young players are not always easy to link up with the first team," he said, according to numerous sources.

"You have to ease them through sparingly, otherwise they can end up burnt out. I already did that with Bertrand Traore and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but it needs to happen more often."

Hiddink won just 10 of his 27 matches in charge of Chelsea this season.
