Graeme Le Saux hails Ashley Cole

Former England international Graeme Le Saux hails Ashley Cole ahead of yet another FA Cup final appearance.

Former England and Chelsea left-back Graeme Le Saux has heaped praise upon Ashley Cole as the former Arsenal man approaches yet another FA Cup final.

Cole, 31, already holds the record for most FA Cup wins by a single player, picking up six winners medals, and on May 5 he has a chance to extend the record even further.

Le Saux believes that such an achievement shows the consistency of a player widely regarded to be one of the best of his generation in his position.

"It's huge credit to him," Le Saux told Press Association Sport.

"He's an incredibly consistent performer and I think that's how you judge sportsmen, by their consistency over a long period of time.

"He certainly stands out as one of the most consistent full-backs of his generation."

Cole is expected to start in Chelsea's game against Queen's Park Rangers on Sunday as they continue to fight for fourth place.
