Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho: 'Team will be ready to take on Burnley'

Jose Mourinho insists that his Chelsea players will be ready to face Burnley in their opening match of the Premier League season next Monday.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that his players will be fit and raring to go for their opening Premier League match against Burnley.

The Blues, who came from behind to earn a pre-season 2-1 victory over Ferencvaros last night, will take on the newly-promoted side next Monday at Turf Moor.

Mourinho has admitted that pre-season has been tough with Andre Schurrle, Oscar, Ramires and Willian joining the team late due to their World Cup efforts, but the Portuguese coach has no concerns ahead of the new campaign.

"It's been a difficult pre-season because we started with seven players," Mourinho told the club's official website. "After that, step by step, players were arriving after the World Cup and holidays.

"Finally, in this last week we've had everybody together but obviously not everyone is prepared. For example, [Branislav] Ivanovic has been training for one month, Schurrle has trained for five days, so there is a big difference between players. We have to play the first league match next weekend and we will be ready for that."

Didier Drogba, who re-signed for the Blues on a one-year deal last month, has a cloud over his fitness after he suffered an ankle injury during last night's friendly.
