John Terry hails Chelsea "character"

Chelsea skipper John Terry hails his side's "character" after they became the first English team to take points off Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this season.

Chelsea captain John Terry has praised the "character" of his side after they produced an impressive display to beat Manchester City 1-0 this evening.

The Blues became the first team to take points off City in the league at the Etihad Stadium this season, while also preventing them from scoring at home for the first time since November 2010.

"We showed a lot of character, and created a lot of chances. We spent a good couple of days working on their strengths and weaknesses - that is typical Jose Mourinho," Terry told Sky Sports News.

"We have a couple of games at home now to kick on. We must win them as we dropped points against West Ham last week."

The win sees Chelsea draw level on points with Manchester City in the Premier League table, with both teams now two points behind leaders Arsenal.
