Paris Saint-Germain reportedly failed with a bid to initiate discussions with Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante in January.
The France international is a key player at Stamford Bridge and there was never any chance of the World Cup winner departing West London at the midway point of the campaign.
However, with his contract currently due to expire in 2023, speculation persists that the 31-year-old may be open to an exit if the Blues do not attempt to hand him more than a one-year contract extension.
According to Le Parisien, PSG have been monitoring the situation and tried to make contact with Kante at the start of the new year.
The report claims that Kante did not respond to PSG's proposal owing to his desire to remain in London and currently having no intention of returning to France.
Although Kante has been hindered by injury this season, he has still made 30 appearances in all competitions.
