Alan Pardew: 'We must respond after Hull City defeat'

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew admits that he has demanded a response from his side after they suffered back-to-back defeats ahead of their visit to Chelsea.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has described his side's performance against Hull City last weekend as the worst display since his arrival at the club.

The 2-0 defeat to the Tigers was their second successive setback, and ahead of Sunday's clash with Chelsea, Pardew has admitted that they need to deliver a positive response.

The 53-year-old told reporters: "You don't always win when you play well, but on Saturday, it was by far the worst performance during my time here. We have worked really hard to put that right."

"I didn't even need to tell them, they told me. This is one terrific group of players. Our solution this week has been to work hard. Work on our fitness levels, our technical skills and our team shape."

The Eagles currently sit in 12th position in the Premier League standings.
