England manager Gareth Southgate is reportedly attempting to convince Crystal Palace midfielder Michael Olise to pledge his future to the Three Lions.

England manager Gareth Southgate is attempting to convince Crystal Palace's Michael Olise to play for his team.

Olise's father is Nigerian, while his mother is French-Algerian, and because he was born in London, there are four different countries hoping to secure him as their player, but he is not in a rush to decide.

The 20-year-old is on the radar of the Three Lions boss, who would like to have the option of selecting him, but the midfielder has a choice to make after representing France at the Under-18s level.

Olise has been a regular in Patrick Vieira's side this year, featuring 21 times in the Premier League, scoring twice in the process, and it has caught the eye of Southgate.

According to the Daily Mail, the England manager would like the Eagles star to commit to representing the country, and the FA have held talks with him about that possibility.

However, right now Olise is leaning more towards choosing France, but he was also on the standby list for Nigeria ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, although he did not get chosen.
