Everton captain Phil Jagielka declares himself fit for Sunday's clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka has declared himself fit for selection for his side's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

The defender has missed the Toffees' last four matches after picking up a hamstring injury in their 4-0 defeat against Manchester United in September.

The North-West side have struggled to find form this season and currently sit 16th in the table with just seven points from seven games.

Sunday's visit to 14th-placed Brighton offers an ideal opportunity for Everton to get their season back on track, and Jagielka says that he and other experienced players must play a key role in turning their fortunes around.

"The injury is all good now. The Burnley game came a day or two too early, but with the international break, hopefully training will go well and I will be pushing for selection," he told the club's official website.

"We all try to help motivate each other off the pitch but when the game starts it is all about doing the right things."

The England international has made 355 appearances for the club since joining in 2007 from Sheffield United.
