Bryan Oviedo eager for minutes after recovering from injury blow

Bryan Oviedo says that he wants more minutes on the pitch for Everton this season after making his return from a foot injury last weekend.

Everton full-back Bryan Oviedo has insisted that he wants more game time this season after recently returning to action following a foot injury.

The Costa Rican, who had been out of action until February, was dealt a setback when he fractured a metatarsal in his foot during a training session in April.

On Sunday, Oviedo made his return by playing 26 minutes in the Toffees' 3-1 victory over Scottish side Hearts.

"I am happy to be back again and to play some minutes," the Liverpool Echo quotes Oviedo as saying. "Now everything is coming together well and I hope to play more minutes in this pre-season and be ready for the season ahead.

"It was a long wait but now it is in the past. Now the most important thing is to work hard and to be ready. For me, the most important thing is the future now."

Oviedo will have to fight Leighton Baines and Brendan Galloway for a place in the team.
