Everton are reportedly keeping tabs on Southampton's attacking duo Che Adams and Kamaldeen Sulemana, amid news that Demarai Gray could depart the club.

Everton have reportedly spoken to Southampton over acquiring the services of attacking pair Che Adams and Kamaldeen Sulemana.

The Toffees were strongly linked with Sulemana during the January transfer window, but financial restraints saw the Ghanaian opt to join the Saints instead.

Adams, a current Scotland international, netted 25 Premier League goals in four seasons at St. Mary's before the club's relegation last season.

The 27-year-old has not featured much in pre-season though, and could opt to look for a move which would keep him in the Premier League for the upcoming season.

Sulemana, meanwhile, struggled to have much impact upon arrival in January, as his only two goals for the club both came on the final day against Liverpool after relegation had already been long confirmed.

However, the 21-year-old had shown plenty of promising signs at former clubs Rennes and Nordsjaelland, helping him earn a place in Ghana's 2022 World Cup squad.

Sulemana has not played a single minute under new boss Russell Martin in pre-season though, fuelling rumours that the player will depart before the closure of the summer window.

With Demarai Gray reportedly on the verge of a move to Fulham - but not until Everton find a replacement - Sulemana may be the man to come in to fill the gap that Gray will leave.

The Liverpool Echo claims that Everton are keeping tabs on the players after it was revealed earlier in the week that the club remain in the hunt for more reinforcements.

That was announced following the news that Everton are closing in on the signing of Sporting Lisbon forward Youssef Chermiti.

The 19-year-old has only been playing first-team football with the Portuguese giants for six months and he is not expected to be Everton's only addition in attack.

Ellis Simms has already departed to join Coventry City and fellow youngster Tom Cannon could be set for another loan at Preston North End.

The Athletic claim that Preston are currently leading the race to take Cannon on loan after the 20-year-old striker impressed at Deepdale in the second half of last season, scoring eight in 20 matches.

With Neal Maupay the only other striker at the club available to deputise for the often-injured Dominic Calvert-Lewin, it is believed that manager Sean Dyche would still like to add another senior forward to their ranks.

There was encouraging news earlier on Tuesday for the Toffees though, as Calvert-Lewin made his first appearance of pre-season, featuring in a 2-2 draw against Monza which was played behind closed doors.

Lewis Dobbin also featured and scored, following on from reports stating that Dyche has been impressed with his performances in pre-season and may look to involve him in the first team next season.
