Wayne Rooney 'to snub MLS move if Sam Allardyce is sacked'

A report claims that Wayne Rooney's move to Major League Soccer side DC United is dependant on whether or not Sam Allardyce stays on as Everton manager.

Wayne Rooney is awaiting a decision on Sam Allardyce's future before deciding whether to stay at Everton, according to a report.

The 32-year-old has entered advanced talks with Major League Soccer side DC United over a switch later this month, which would supposedly be subsidised by the Toffees and former club Manchester United.

Rooney may yet remain at Goodison Park for another year, however, as The Mirror suggests that the ex-England skipper is waiting to see if Allardyce is sacked.

Should a new manager be appointed, the report indicates that Rooney will then hold talks to see where he fits into the plans for next season.

Everton chiefs are not expected to make a decision on Allardyce's future until after their final league game against West Ham United on Sunday.
