Fulham captain Brede Hangeland has admitted that the players must respond to the support that they have been given by the fans with a win over Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
Hangeland's Fulham are rock bottom of the Premier League and the centre-back has urged the supporters to maintain their level of backing if they are to win their battle against relegation.
"The support has been fantastic and we're so thankful for that," he told the club's official website. "We feel that we need to repay that by winning as many games as we can for the fans, which will hopefully begin on Saturday.
"We know it's a very, very tough time for the supporters but we're asking that they continue to get behind the boys on Saturday, and in all the remaining games. If they can try and push us over the line, in terms of getting wins, then that can only help. We all need to pull in the same direction."
The Whites' defeat to Cardiff City last week means that even with a win over Newcastle they would remain bottom.
