Chris Baird joins Fulham on loan

Chris Baird returns to Fulham on loan from Derby County for the rest of the season.

Derby County defender Chris Baird has signed for Fulham on loan for the rest of the season.

The 33-year-old, who spent six years with the Cottagers before being released in 2013, has made 16 appearances for the promotion-chasing Rams since joining over the summer.

In recent months he has fallen down the pecking order, however, and has started just one league game since September - the 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage earlier this month.

Baird told Fulham's official website: "When the opportunity arose I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted to come and be part of this again.

"I'm looking forward to playing in front of the fans again. They were fantastic to me over the six years that I was here previously."

Baird returns to Fulham with the club 19th in the Championship, five points above the drop zone.
