Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner will allegedly pocket a £2.5m bonus for maintaining his side's Premier League status.

The Terriers, promoted to the top flight for the first time this season, secured their spot in the Premier League after a 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday night.

According to The Telegraph, the bonus was written into Wagner's contract, and the club have begin negotiations over an extension at the John Smith's Stadium for the German.

The newspaper adds that Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle is keen to tie Wagner down to a lucrative deal in West Yorkshire amid reported interest from the likes of Leicester City and Southampton.

Huddersfield could finish as high as 15th in the table on Sunday, should the Terriers beat Arsenal and West Ham United lose to Everton.
