Galatasaray coach Cesare Prandelli has given his backing to Antonio Conte's appointment as his successor as Italy boss.
Conte left Juventus to take over as the Azzurri chief after the World Cup, and Prandelli thinks that his national team have made the right decision.
"Conte was the best coach in Serie A over the last three years and I think he is the right man for this Italy," Prandelli told Sky Sport Italia.
"There is a lot of enthusiasm and that is good for Italian football, but I continue to think people should talk about the Nazionale only occasionally. Italian football would benefit from that."
Italy were knocked out of the World Cup at the group stage alongside England.
