Alan Pardew keen to sign Ross McCormack for Newcastle United?

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew reportedly tells club officials that he wants to sign Leeds United striker Ross McCormack.

Leeds United striker Ross McCormack has reportedly been targeted by Newcastle United regarding a summer move to St James' Park.

McCormack ended the last campaign as the Championship's top goalscorer after netting 28 goals, and his form at Elland Road saw Leeds turn down offers from West Ham United and Cardiff City during the January transfer window.

However, according to the Northern Echo, the Scottish international will be allowed to leave the Yorkshire outfit during the summer for a fee in the region of £5m, which has alerted Magpies boss Alan Pardew.

Pardew wants to strengthen his attacking department with a player who has proven himself in English football, and after the departures of Loic Remy and Shola Ameobi, and with Papiss Cisse recovering from a broken leg, the Newcastle chief could press forward with his transfer plans.
