Leicester City will be attempting to extend a 22-year Premier League streak when they face Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday evening.

Leicester City will be hoping to extend a 22-year Premier League streak when they face Everton on Saturday evening.

The Foxes are currently enduring their worst top-flight campaign since winning the title back in 2016, sitting in 18th position in the standings.

That is despite Brendan Rodgers's team enjoying somewhat of a resurgence of late, with a seven-point haul over three games only being followed by a narrow defeat to Manchester City.

Should Leicester prevail at Goodison Park this weekend, they are realistically likely to move clear of the bottom three for the first time since August.

While that will be the priority of the East Midlands outfit, Leicester will also want to extend a run at Goodison Park which has lasted for over two decades.

Not since 1999 have Leicester failed to score in a Premier League fixture at Everton's Merseyside home, the result on that occasion being a goalless draw.

When the teams met in the corresponding game in 1999-20, they played out a 2-2 scoreline, starting a run of 12 successive visits to Goodison Park where Leicester have netted at least one goal.

That streak is extended to 14 matches in all competitions when including an FA Cup tie in 2017 and an EFL Cup clash in 2019.

However, despite Leicester generally having plenty of joy in the final third at Goodison Park, they have failed to win on their last three visits.

After a 2-1 reverse soon after the start of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the last two league fixtures in Liverpool have ended in 1-1 draws.

Up until recently, Leicester had also held the worst away record in the Premier League after losing all five fixtures, but they thrashed Wolverhampton Wanderers by a 4-0 scoreline in their last match away from the King Power Stadium.

Leicester can move ahead of 12th-placed Everton in the Premier League table on Saturday if they win by at least a two-goal margin.
