Paul Merson praises "very good" Danny Drinkwater

Leicester City will face a fight to keep Danny Drinkwater at the club in the January transfer window, according to former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson.

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has claimed that Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater will be a wanted man in the January transfer window.

Drinkwater, 25, joined Leicester from Manchester United in 2012 and is fast closing on 150 league appearances for the Foxes.

The former England Under-19 international has played a key role in Leicester's excellent start to the season and Merson has said that the midfielder will not be short of interest in the winter window.

"Drinkwater is a very good player. It wouldn't surprise me if somebody came and bought him. There aren't too many better centre midfield players at the moment than him," Merson told Sky Sports News following Leicester's 3-0 win over Swansea City on Saturday.

Leicester have only lost one of their 15 league games this season, with a total of 32 points leaving them top of the Premier League table.
