Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that he will take no risks on Mohamed Salah for the Merseyside derby with Everton on Saturday.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said that he will not risk the fitness of Mohamed Salah for Saturday's Merseyside derby with Everton.

On Wednesday night, Salah needed to be substituted early during the second half of the Champions League clash with Manchester City, with the Egyptian said to have suffered a groin injury.

Liverpool are keen to have the winger available for the second leg of the quarter-final clash at the Etihad Stadium - which takes place on Tuesday night - and Klopp has suggested that he will be cautious with the attacker.

At a press conference, the 50-year-old told reporters: "We have tried everything to make him available. Twenty-four hours to go so let's see.

"I cannot make Mo available because it is the derby. You cannot push a player through a game. None of our supporters would want that.

"If he is a doubt, and not 100%, he will not be involved. I would not risk any player, not just Mo, it would be the same situation."

Salah has scored 37 goals in 41 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
