Liverpool's Emre Can: "It doesn't matter where I play"

Can open to switching positions

Liverpool's Emre Can has insisted that he will play wherever manager Brendan Rodgers asks him to as long as it helps the team.

The German Under-21 international has slotted into a three-man defence alongside Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho in recent games, but has also shown his talent in midfield.

"From my point of view, it doesn't matter where I play," Can told the club's official website. "The main thing is to be on the pitch where I can help the team.

"If I can help the team by playing in midfield, then I will play in midfield. If I am needed at the back, I will play in defence."

The 21-year-old signed for Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen last summer for a reported £10m fee.
