Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirms that Loris Karius will keep his place in goal for this weekend's trip to play Swansea City in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Loris Karius will keep his place in goal for this weekend's Premier League trip to Swansea City.

The 23-year-old made his top flight debut at the weekend in the Reds' 5-1 thumping of Hull City at Anfield.

Karius, who joined Liverpool from Mainz 05 for £4.7m in the summer transfer window, has dislodged regular number one Simon Mignolet in the last two games.

Klopp intends to keep Karius in his starting XI as he was rarely tested against Hull and in the 3-0 triumph over Derby County in the EFL Cup last week.

"He can play against Swansea again, I already spoke to the goalkeepers, they know it," Klopp told Liverpool's official website. "We had a game at Derby, what can I do? He did not have 500 balls, just two or three balls. Against Hull, I'm not sure, not too many balls.

"Of course, to understand how a player reacts in situations you need the games. We don't have the games in the week so we do it on the weekend and then at a specific point we can make a decision because I know the goalkeeper position is different than the centre-half position, for example. I know this and I respect this, so we'll see."

Liverpool have won their last four games in all competitions and are unbeaten in six.
