Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers tells Simon Mignolet to 'let error go'

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers tells goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to forget his recent blunders and focus on getting a clean sheet against Stoke City.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has told goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to forget his recent troubles in front of goal and focus on getting a clean sheet this weekend.

The Belgium international fumbled a shot from Marcelinho to allow Dani Abalo to latch onto the ball to score the opening goal for Ludogorets Razgrad in Wednesday's 2-2 draw in the Champions League.

Mignolet has come under scrutiny this season for his below-par performances, but it appears that Rodgers is willing to stand by the 26-year-old keeper.

"As a goalkeeper you have to be able to let these things go," Rodgers told The Guardian. "The goal was a massive setback for the team but we need to keep his confidence as high as we can. We have to look to the weekend and keep a clean sheet."

The Reds will take on Stoke City at Anfield on Saturday.
