Barcelona are determined to push through a deal for Georginio Wijnaldum as soon as possible due to Paris Saint-Germain's presence, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly desperate to push through a deal for Georginio Wijnaldum as soon as possible, with Paris Saint-Germain entering the race for the midfielder's signature.

The Netherlands international is available on a free transfer from Liverpool this summer, and Barca have long been regarded as the favourites to sign him.

However, a recent report claimed that PSG were firmly in the hunt for the Dutchman and had offered a more generous financial package to make the move to Paris.

According to Marca, discussions for the midfielder 'have reached a chaotic point', with Barca 'hitting the panic button' as they look to secure a move in the coming days.

The report claims that the Catalan giants are determined not to miss out on the 30-year-old, meaning that they could offer him a more lucrative contract to the one initially placed on the table due to PSG's presence.

Wijnaldum, who is with his country preparing for Euro 2020, scored three times in 51 appearances for Liverpool during the 2020-21 campaign.
