Goalkeeper Loris Karius is reportedly expected to return to parent club Liverpool at the end of his two-year loan spell at Besiktas.

Loris Karius is reportedly on the brink of returning to Liverpool over a row regarding unpaid wages at Besiktas.

In 2018, Liverpool allowed Karius to link up with Besiktas on a two-year loan deal, with the Turkish side being obliged to push through a permanent deal.

However, despite the German establishing himself as a first-team regular, Besiktas are against retaining the services of the stopper.

According to The Guardian, the 26-year-old has complained to FIFA over a period of unpaid wages during the coronavirus pandemic.

The report suggests that this will almost certainly result in Karius returning to Anfield in the coming months.

Besiktas have allegedly agreed to pay Karius in the region of £400,000 of unpaid income in an effort to cancel his temporary contract.
