Ibrahima Konate is set to complete his transfer to Liverpool after representing France at the Under-21 European Championships, according to a report.

Ibrahima Konate is supposedly set to complete his transfer to Liverpool after representing France at the Under-21 European Championships.

The RB Leipzig man is understood to be closing in on a move to the Anfield giants after the Reds were willing to trigger his £34m release clause.

A recent report claimed that Konate has already completed the first part of his Liverpool medical, and there are not expected to be any issues on that front despite his unfortunate luck with injuries this term.

Now, ESPN reports that Konate's move to Merseyside is all but wrapped up, and the transfer will be confirmed after his international exploits come to an end this summer.

Konate will therefore leave Leipzig having scored four goals in 95 matches since arriving from Sochaux in 2017, but he made just 14 Bundesliga appearances during a disrupted 2020-21 season.
