Report: Brendan Rodgers to be given £20m summer budget

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will be given only £20m this summer to spend on new players, according to a report.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been told by the club's board that he will be given only £20m to spend this summer, according to a report.

Rodgers has outlined his ambition to turn the Reds back into Champions League contenders once again but will have to do so on a limited budget.

The Mirror reports that the former Swansea City manager may be forced into selling some of the players on the fringes of his squad to raise funds for any summer additions.

The board have insisted that Rodgers will have the final decision on whether to cash in on star asset Luis Suarez.

However, no move is likely to happen due to the Uruguayan's form this season and his hero status among the club's supporters.
