Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum will reportedly miss out on a move to Barcelona if the Catalan giants opt to sack head coach Ronald Koeman.

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum reportedly faces the possibility of missing out on a switch to Barcelona.

Having enjoyed a hugely successful five-year spell at Anfield, Wijnaldum is expected to leave Liverpool on a free transfer this summer.

The Netherlands international has long been linked with a move to Barcelona, who are currently managed by Dutch compatriot Ronald Koeman.

However, according to Football Insider, Barcelona officials will scrap the deal if they decide to part ways with Koeman after just one season at Camp Nou.

Despite winning the Copa del Rey, an early exit from the Champions League and missing out on the La Liga title is likely to count against the former Southampton and Everton boss.

President Joan Laporta has suggested that decisions regarding the future of the club will be made as early as next week.
