Spanish midfielder David Silva was not part of the Manchester City squad that flew out to Amsterdam this morning for tomorrow's Champions League encounter with Ajax.

Yesterday City assistant manager Brian Kidd hinted that the attacker could return from a hamstring injury for the clash.

However, Silva's omission from the flight means that he will play no part in the Amsterdam Arena and he has also been rated as doubtful for the upcoming Premier League fixture against Swansea City.

Jack Rodwell, Javi Garcia and Maicon have also been ruled out of the encounter with injuries.
