Manuel Pellegrini: 'Sergio Aguero has trained without any problems'

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini hints that striker Sergio Aguero could start against Chelsea this weekend.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that striker Sergio Aguero has trained "without any problems" ahead of their match with Chelsea on Sunday.

After representing Argentina in the Copa America, Aguero returned back for pre-season training later than the rest of his teammates, which saw him begin Monday's 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on the bench.

However, after improving his fitness throughout the week, Pellegrini has hinted that last season's Premier League top goalscorer could start at the Etihad Stadium.

The Chilean told reporters: "Sergio worked the whole week without any problems so maybe he is not 100% fit because it is better for the player to do a long pre-season, but now we are already in the Premier League and Sergio doesn't have any problems."

Victory for City would see them already open up a five-point gap over last year's champions in the standings.
