Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure believes that the upcoming Premier League season will be "more exciting and more difficult" than ever before.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has claimed that the upcoming Premier League season will be "more exciting and more difficult" than ever before.

The top flight's big sides have all made high-profile signings, with Romelu Lukaku, Alexandre Lacazette and Alvaro Morata joining Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.

"This season coming, it is going to be more exciting and more difficult," Toure told Sky Sports News. "Because all the clubs have the power to buy good, strong players.

"So many good teams, powerful teams, so many rich clubs who can buy good players, To be honest it is going to be exciting for the fans, but for us it is going to be difficult.

"We will see what happens but I think it is going to be a tough year. The new players are going to come. I hope they are going to adapt quickly because next year we will not have time."

The 34-year-old put pen to paper on a new one-year contract at the Etihad Stadium in June.
