Borussia Dortmund chief: 'No more signings to be made'

Borussia Dortmund will make no further signings this summer but could sell a player to balance the books, according to chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke.

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that the club have no plans to further add to their squad this summer.

The Bundesliga outfit have already signed eight players during the off-season, including Marc Bartra, Sebastian Rode, Andre Schurrle and Mario Gotze.

Certain key faces have headed the opposite way, meanwhile, with Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all bringing their spells at the Westfalenstadion to a close.

A big question remains over the future of star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is thought to be in advanced talks with Manchester City, and transfer chief Watzke is not ruling out any further sales.

"As things stand, there will be no more new arrivals before the end of the transfer window," he told Bild am Sonntag. "If anything, we already have too many players at the moment.

"We will not be bringing in any key players who just won the Champions League with Real Madrid. We cannot afford to do anything more than not getting into debts and make sure we are financially stable."

Dortmund face Manchester City in their next pre-season outing on Thursday, a week on from thrashing Manchester United 4-1 in Shanghai.
