Southampton, Wolves to bid for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart?

Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both reportedly interested in signing Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart during the summer transfer window.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for both Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Hart has just made 23 appearances during a season-long loan spell with West Ham United, but the Hammers have opted not to push forward with a permanent deal for the 31-year-old.

However, according to The Mirror, the former England number one will not be short of offers this summer with the Saints and Wolves both showing an interest.

Southampton boss Mark Hughes currently has Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster at his disposal, but the Welshman and Hart have previously worked together at the Etihad Stadium.

Wolves are in search of a new stopper after securing a return to the Premier League, and Hart would represent a cheaper option than Stoke City's Jack Butland and Sporting Lisbon's Rui Patricio.

Hart has spent 12 years contracted to City but after 348 outings in all competitions, the club will look to sell the former Shrewsbury Town trainee this summer with just over a year remaining on his deal.
