Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick says that Scott McTominay is likely to miss Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur through injury.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that Scott McTominay is unlikely to be available for Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Scotland international missed out against Watford in the league at the end of February through illness but returned to play the full 90 minutes of the 4-1 loss to Manchester City last weekend.

McTominay is likely to miss out against Tottenham on Saturday, though, with Red Devils interim head coach Ralf Rangnick revealing that the central midfielder has a calf problem.

Rangnick has said that he is not prepared to take any chances with the 25-year-old ahead of the second leg of their Champions League last-16 affair with Atletico Madrid next week.

"Scotty is a question mark, problems with his calf. Right now it's more likely he will not be available because if we risk him tomorrow he might be out for the game on Tuesday (against Atletico Madrid). I tend to be careful if it's a muscular injury," Rangnick told reporters.

McTominay has again been a vital player for Man United during the 2021-22 campaign, making 30 appearances in all competitions, including 24 outings in the Premier League.
