Robin van Persie to miss Aston Villa match

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal reveals that striker Robin van Persie will miss his side's game with Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been ruled out of the club's Premier League fixture with Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

Van Persie has been absent from the United squad since picking up an ankle injury against Swansea City on February 21, and although revealing that he was close to a return, manager Louis van Gaal has insisted that he isn't ready to feature this weekend.

The Dutchman told reporters: "Van Persie is still injured. We have a process. He has to go to the final football coach before he comes into my group and he is not there yet. He is still not in my group."

A win for United could potentially move them into second place in the Premier League table.
