David Moyes reveals that his decision to leave Everton was tough and that the next manager will have a good setup.

Everton manager David Moyes has admitted that his decision to leave the club to join Manchester United at the end of the season was "difficult".

Moyes is taking over from the retiring Sir Alex Ferguson and said that whoever is appointed to the Toffees helm will inherit a fantastic setup at the club.

"It was a very difficult meeting [with Bill Kenwright]," Moyes told reporters. "He's always been great to me and he understood my decision.

"This club when I took over was bobbing along near the bottom of the Premier League. Now we're competing for fifth or sixth spot every season.

"Whoever comes in will get a well-run club and a great set of players. I'm disappointed to be leaving such a great club."

Moyes has two more games in charge of Everton before his move to United.
