Barcelona are reportedly keen to sell Ousmane Dembele to Manchester United before the end of this summer's transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are said to view the France international as a possible alternative to Jadon Sancho with Borussia Dortmund holding firm when it comes to the 20-year-old.
United are only believed to be interested in loaning Dembele, though, rather than signing the World Cup winner on a permanent deal for a large fee.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan giants are keen on a permanent sale, but the Red Devils will not consider acquiring the 23-year-old on a long-term basis.
Despite the recent speculation, Barca sporting director Ramon Planes denied that his club had been in talks with United over the former Dortmund attacker.
Solskjaer's team, meanwhile, are said to be in discussions with free agent Edinson Cavani.
