Chelsea reportedly cool their interest in Moises Caicedo, who is also attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Chelsea have reportedly cooled their interest in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The Blues have already signed six players in the January transfer window, but they are still keen to strengthen their squad.

As well as searching for a right-back, the Blues are also in the market for a central midfielder, and Caicedo had been identified as a potential option.

The Ecuador international has established himself as a key part of the Brighton lineup, starting all 18 Premier League games that he has been available for this season.

Caicedo, who has chipped in with one goal and one assist this term, has been linked with a move to Chelsea, who reportedly had a £55m bid rejected by the Seagulls.

However, according to the Evening Standard, the Blues are set to turn their attention to other targets as they look to sign a midfielder before Tuesday's deadline.

The report suggests that Chelsea are put off by Brighton's asking price, which is believed to be in the region of £75m.

Meanwhile, Caicedo has recently insisted that he is happy at the South-coast club despite being linked with a move away.

After selling Leandro Trossard to Arsenal this month, the Seagulls are under no financial pressure to sell Caicedo, who is under contract until June 2025.

Although Chelsea appear to have put their pursuit on the back burner, the Gunners are considering a move for Caicedo, who has also attracted interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

With Arsenal concerned about Mohamed Elneny's injury issues, they want to bolster their midfield options to assist in their bid to win the Premier League title.

While the league leaders are considering a move for Caicedo, Chelsea are looking at alternative options.

Everton's Amadou Onana had been linked, but he does not want to depart the Merseyside club during the current transfer window.

A recent report indicated that Chelsea are to battle it out with Liverpool for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes, who could cost in the region of £55m.

Declan Rice and Enzo Fernandez, who play for West Ham United and Benfica respectively, are also on Chelsea's radar.
