Alessandro Del Piero urges Paul Pogba to remain at Juventus

Alessandro Del Piero concedes that Paul Pogba faces a tough decision over his future, but hopes to see the Juventus ace remain in place with the Italian giants.

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has said that he is hopeful Manchester United-linked midfielder Paul Pogba will remain in Turin for at least another season.

The 23-year-old, currently on international duty with France, has been tipped with making a return to his former club in a deal that could be worth a world-record fee.

Del Pierro does not believe that Pogba should jump ship just yet, though, claiming that a fifth season at the Juventus Stadium may be the better option for his long-term development.

"Pogba is a great player, has great potential and has already shown that to everybody," he told Sky Sports News. "I don't know what's going to happen, there's a lot of talk and I think Juventus want to keep him for at least one more year.

"But definitely United are a huge club, it's also tough for him to decide what's best. As an Italian and a former Juventus player, I hope he stays for at least one more year."

Pogba is expected to be handed a starting role in midfield for France as they take on Portugal in Sunday's Euro 2016 final at the Stade de France.
