Borussia Dortmund reportedly hold talks with Red Bull Salzburg regarding a potential deal for striker Erling Braut Haaland.

Borussia Dortmund have allegedly emerged as the new frontrunners in the race to sign Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Braut Haaland.

Having starred in the Champions League this season, the 19-year-old is on the radar of a number of top European clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

However, according to Ruhr Nachrichten, Dortmund are now considered to be the favourites to sign the Norway international.

The report suggests that talks were held between the relevant parties after Salzburg's exit from the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Haaland is said to have a release clause of just £17m, although it remains unclear whether that only applies to RB Leipzig, who share the same owners as Salzburg.

Nevertheless, as well as the two German clubs, the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid are all said to be monitoring the situation.
