Everton are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero before Monday's transfer deadline.
The Argentina international is now only regarded as third choice at Old Trafford after Dean Henderson penned a new long-term contract.
That has left the 33-year-old open to a transfer to another club as he bids to secure regular first-team football.
According to The Times, Everton have made contact with United regarding the possible signing of Romero.
Although Jordan Pickford remains as Carlo Ancelotti's number one, several high-profile errors have led to his long-term future at Goodison Park being left in some doubt.
The Toffees may move for Tottenham Hotspur stopper Paulo Gazzaniga if they cannot bring in Romero.
