James Rodriguez 'offered to Premier League clubs by Real Madrid'

Real Madrid reportedly offer wantaway midfielder Jame Rodriguez to a number of Premier League clubs, with the player favouring a move to Chelsea.

Real Madrid have reportedly offered midfielder James Rodriguez to a number of Premier League clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth under Zinedine Zidane and is understood to be free to look for a new club next month.

Madrid are thought to be more willing to sell the Colombia international after seeing their transfer ban halved, which means that they can sign players as early as next summer.

The Daily Mail reports that James has been offered to the biggest clubs in England, although the player himself is understood to favour a move to league leaders Chelsea.

However, Manchester United is also a possible destination, with the move being overseen by agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents United boss Jose Mourinho and goalkeeper David de Gea.

James, who has made just four starts in La Liga this season, recently refused to rule out an exit from the club and has also been linked with Inter Milan or a lucrative switch to China.
