Manchester United are reportedly in competition with Liverpool and Newcastle United to sign Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele on a free transfer.
The France international's contract at Camp Nou is due to expire at the end of June, and Barcelona are said to be finding it difficult to meet the attacker's wage demands.
A recent report claimed that the World Cup winner wants a £67m package to remain at Camp Nou, which Xavi's side will find difficult due to their ongoing financial problems.
Man United continue to be strongly linked with his services, and according to The Mirror, Liverpool and Newcastle are also keen to bring him to the Premier League this year.
The report claims that Dembele could yet leave Barcelona in a cut-price January deal if he makes it clear to the La Liga club that he will not be signing an extension in the coming months.
The 24-year-old has only made eight appearances at club level during the 2021-22 campaign, having struggled with injury problems once again, while he was absent against Mallorca in La Liga on January 2 after testing positive for coronavirus over the winter break.
