Manchester United are reportedly preparing an £80m swoop for Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz.
The 20-year-old, who has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid, scored 20 times in 42 appearances for his German club during the 2018-19 campaign.
The Germany international has also contributed three goals in 14 outings this season, and the speculation surrounding the attacker's future has gathered pace in recent weeks.
According to the Daily Star, United are plotting an £80m swoop for Havertz, and the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is confident of securing a deal in next summer's transfer window.
The report adds that the 20-time English champions will have scouts at the BayArena on Wednesday night to watch Havertz in action against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
The youngster largely operates through the middle as an attacking midfielder but has also operated as a right-sided forward during the early stages of the 2019-20 campaign.
