Manchester United are reportedly eager to speed up negotiations with Sporting Lisbon for attacker Bruno Fernandes.
The 24-year-old played a direct part in 33 goals in the Portuguese top flight last season to earn links with a move to Old Trafford.
United are said to be willing to pay around £70m for Fernandes and, amid rumours that Tottenham Hotspur are about to enter the race for his signature, A Bola reports that the Red Devils want to get a deal wrapped up.
Talks have already been arranged for this week, it is claimed, and the Premier League side are hopeful that an announcement could be made following Portugal's participation in the UEFA Nations League.
Fernandes, also linked with Liverpool and Manchester City in recent weeks, has been talked up by ex-United boss Jose Mourinho.
