Manchester United reportedly make contact with Zlatan Ibrahimovic regarding a potential reunion during the January transfer window.

Manchester United have reportedly identified Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a potential signing for the January transfer window.

Having spent the last two seasons in the MLS with Los Angeles Galaxy, Ibrahimovic is ready to return to Europe, aware that he will not be short of offers.

While the 38-year-old has been linked with a move to Italy and Spain, Tuttomercatoweb claims that United have told the forward that they wish to hand him a second spell at Old Trafford.

Between July 2016 and March 2018, Ibrahimovic contributed 29 goals from 53 appearances in all competitions, during a period which saw the Swede spend a significant amount of time on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.

United have struggled for goals during the opening three months of the campaign, having failed to replace Romelu Lukaku during the summer.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is allegedly also keen on bringing in Juventus frontman Mario Mandzukic.
