Manchester United reportedly decide to end talks over Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic due to concerns over his price.

Manchester United have reportedly pulled out of talks to sign Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic today over concerns about his price.

The 33-year-old had been on United's radar for most of the summer and was being considered as part of a swap deal that would see Romelu Lukaku move to Turin in exchange.

After Lukaku instead edged towards a move to Inter Milan, the deal was considered dead, although reports last night suggested that United had reignited their interest.

According to the Daily Mail, United have now changed their mind again and have ended talks due to Juve's valuation and the player's wage demands.

The newspaper says that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were only prepared to spend £15m on the Croatia international but the Serie A side wanted more, while Mandzukic's personal terms were also "a factor in United's decision to walk away from negotiations".

With just hours remaining until the transfer deadline, United are now highly unlikely to bring in a direct replacement for Lukaku this summer.
