Manchester United 'will not drop David de Gea asking price'

Manchester United will not lower their asking price for Real Madrid target David de Gea, according to reports.

Manchester United have reportedly made it clear that they will not lower their asking price as David de Gea continues to attract interest from Real Madrid.

De Gea continues to be linked with a move to the Bernabeu despite Real's struggles to tempt United into selling the Spanish goalkeeper, but reports in Spain have suggested that they would consider an offer in the region of £25m.

However, The Mirror claims that United have no intention of backing down in any negotiations and will continue to demand £35m for the 24-year-old, who has just 12 months remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford.

The report suggests that Louis van Gaal and club officials are willing to keep De Gea in the final year of his contract rather than sell him cheaply.

United's reported valuation would also suggest that a swap deal involving Sergio Ramos, who has been linked with a switch to the Premier League, is unlikely.
