Mexico boss tells Wolves forward Raul Jimenez to join Manchester United

Mexico boss Gerard Martino advises Raul Jimenez to choose Manchester United over Juventus should he opt to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.

Mexico boss Gerard Martino has claimed that Raul Jimenez should show a preference towards joining Manchester United over Juventus.

Having starred for Wolverhampton Wanderers over the past two seasons, Jimenez has been heavily linked with a wide range of top European clubs.

While Real Madrid are also said to be admirers, Martino feels that his compatriot would be best suited to United, who he says lack a recognised central striker.

Speaking to ESPN, Martino said: "Looking at it from the outside today I cannot see a specialist number nine like Raul at United.

"There are many forwards like [Marcus] Rashford, [Anthony] Martial and the boy who now plays as right winger: [Mason] Greenwood but since Romelu Lukaku left I can't see a pure number nine like Raul.

"At Juventus he will have more of a fight because [Cristiano] Ronaldo shares the inside of the pitch with whoever plays alongside him, with [Paulo] Dybala or with [Gonzalo] Higuain and maybe he has a tougher fight there."

Jimenez still has three years remaining on his contract at Molineux.
