Paris Saint-Germain reportedly reject a second Atletico Madrid bid for striker Edinson Cavani, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly seen a second bid for Edinson Cavani turned down by Paris Saint-Germain.

The 32-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes this month, with the French champions willing to cash in on their record goalscorer before he becomes available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs thought to be monitoring Cavani's situation, while Atletico Madrid are reported to be leading the race.

However, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo today denied reports that a deal for the Uruguayan forward is imminent, and L'Equipe now claims that the Spanish outfit's latest offer has been rejected.

Atletico are understood to have made a €15m (£12.7m) bid for Cavani, having already seen one approach turned down, only for PSG to once again rebuff the proposal.

PSG sporting director Leonardo is holding out for an offer worth €25m (£21.2m) and is willing to risk losing him on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer should that asking price not be met.

Cavani has scored 198 goals in just 292 appearances for PSG, but he has been limited to only four Ligue 1 starts this season.
