The 18-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the last couple of months, with Man United believed to be prepared to part with £40m to bring the Portugal international to England.
It is understood that Man United have scouted the midfielder extensively in 2016 and according to Manchester Evening News, representatives of the 20-time English champions watched Sanches against Bayern.
